Outline

 

16 weeks of outdoor training including 2 weeks climbing in Spain

The is a 4 month intensive course based in the heart of the Dartmoor National Park and the east coast of Spain. It is a practical course with 90% of our time spent outside, learning by 'doing'. During this time you will be coached by instructors keen to share their experience and passion for the outdoors. The team will guide you step by step as your skills develop. You will also receive a number of short lectures in the evenings to give you some underpinning theory and historical knowldge of the outdoor industry. The course will take you all over Devon and Cornwall and we will  spend time in the mountains of North Wales, plus the first 2 weeks of climbing in Spain, taking advantage of the superb climbing and perfect weather.


By the end of the course:

  • you can expect to have reached the standards set down by the NGB's (National Governing Body) in kayaking, canoeing, climbing, and walking
  • you will have experienced the delights of moving water and surf kayaking.
  • you will gain certificates in first aid
  • You will also develop your skills of working with people and gain a greater understanding of how people interact in groups.
  • you will have a sound understanding of conservation issues relating to the outdoor industry including the management of National Parks
